Donate to Defend Young Artists

Young people need theatre more than ever. Theatre brings connection where isolation once existed through shared experience. Theatre shines light on issues in a way that helps us name them and face them head on together. Theatre allows us to explore new possibilities and build a temporary world together in a way that inspires us to joint action in the real world.

Defend access to youth theatre for all with SteppingStone Theatre for Youth. Young people must have these experiences, regardless of their ability to pay. So, we are raising money to provide a school year of virtual and in-person pay-as-you're-able theatre arts programming for young artists and schools.

  • With $295,000 we will be able to maintain operations with paid classes and performances.
  • With $500,000, we can provide pay-as-you're-ableaccess to 8,000 student artists through:
    • Virtual Artist residencies for elementary schools focused on reading and social/emotional skills.

    • Virtual Studios, accessible to families at all grade levels (3 years of age through High School).
  • With $1,000,000, we can provide pay-as-you're-able programming to 25,000 student artists through:
    • Virtual Artist residencies for elementary schools focused on reading and social/emotional skills.

    • Virtual Studios accessible to families at all grade levels (3 years of age through High School).
    • Online performances for schools with enrichment guides and curriculum support.

    • In-school, after-school, and Saturday opportunities for families.

    • LEAP, our middle school production program, supporting opportunities for hundreds of teens to build friendships and skills as they create theatre together.

    • When safe to be in person we will host:

    • small in person family events

    • social justice art-making workshops

    • guest artists focused on remaining connected, creative, and hopeful together

Thank you. Your gift will ensure that young people have a space to connect, to create, to know that their voice matters, and that they have something important to say. As we go into the new school year, filled with uncertainty and worry, you are providing stability, joy, hope, and predictability to thousands of families!
